Making a London Plane hanging rail yesterday on one of the @blackhorsews wood lathes using locally sourced wood from the streets of London Soho.
Final stages of making my London Plane stool. 

I used walnut to make the wedged mortise and tenon joints. Everything else is timber all cut from the same fallen tree in Denmark Hill, south london. 

I used an osmo hard wax oil for the finish to try

Spent this Saturday at @blackhorsews working on my London plane stool. 

This included making a 12 degree angled jig for drilling the mortise holes into the seat before dry fitting all the legs. Really stoked with the results so far.

I’m making a stool from locally sourced @fallenandfelled London Plane from a tree that had to be cut down in Denmark Hill. I’ll be using fox wedge mortise and tenon joint
Finished fitting the sycamore veneer panels to my tulip wood light shade frame. 

Testing out what the shade will look like once I have the bulb holder to keep it suspended. Pleased with the results!
This Sunday spent working on my light shade. 

To strengthen the joints, I hammered 1mm pin nails into each mitre before assembling all the components. Looking forward to fitting the veneer next πŸ‘

I’m using thin strips of poplar, cut and sanded to size in the workshop to make the frame. Back in the flat, I’m using a Japanese handsaw to cut the angles so that I can fit them tog
Cedar wood chair model I made last weekend. 

Absolutely love the grain pattern and smell of this wood! Looking forward to making some of these chairs in full size in the future. For the time being though I am enjoying the creative process of model m
